Now for the let down!

What a great day it was and now for the let down to begin. We are trying to relax and let it all soak in. The kids had a blast and so did we. We were all spoiled and are thankful for what we have in our lives.
I have no idea how you could not be thankful in country like ours. After serving in the military for 10 years and seeing many other countries it is easy to say that we are the luckiest by far. I don't think that people in other countries understand our loyalty to our country or do they? I remember dating women in other countries and usually when we commented on how we could not wait to get back to the "real world". One girl in particular got pissed off at me when I made that comment so of course, I said it all the time! :) She was from Germany and I should have expected it from a German. I spent 7 yrs there and it was an OK country but it felt like I was living in a snow globe. They talked shit about our country yet they want to live here! It seemed that the all just wanted the green card and all the benefits that come with it.
That brings up another issue; Immigrating to the U.S. Having dealt with this on a daily basis it amazes my how many people take this for granted. Back in the old days, if you immigrated to a country, you immigrated and then naturalized. That is what INS stands for, Immigration and Naturalization. Now days people immigrate and stay a resident alien until they die. They live in their own little pods and never even try to assimilate to their surroundings. They have children who do all the talking for them and then they never have to learn how to speak the native countries language. Try this in any other country and see what happens! Old immigrants were proud to become U.S. citizens and tried to fit in. The new breed of immigrants come here and try to change the country to benefit them. The use their greencards as a visa to come and go as they please. They go and live in their native country and only come back when it time to collect the social security monies. We need to stop changing our history and ideals to benefit them. Preserve our history and if they don't like it then they can leave or just shut up!

Another rant gone on to long but had to say it.

Almost there!

Well, the big day is almost here. There will be a big sigh of relief and then we can back to our boring mundane lives. There is the big build up then there is the let down that follows. How can something that takes so much time energy be over so damn fast?
We can honestly say that we were finished a couple days early which makes it easier on all of us. We can actually go to the mall and watch all the other people running to get their shopping done and laugh! We're sick like that I guess. Unfortunately, I have to work X-MAS Eve but I'm off X-MAS day. My wife and I tell each other every year that we won't spoil the kids so much next year but that never happens. We love to see their eyes light as the open their presents. They have been good kids and have done great in school so they deserve to be spoiled!
We are all looking forward our Maui trip in January and I have added a countdown to the blog to help keep track of the date of our departure. Buzz & Ba bought us the tickets and we love being there with them. It is an awesome place and my favorite place to go to for obvious reasons. The winter has been pretty mild this year but it is always good to get away to the sunny beaches. I will be sure to post some pics of our trip when I get back.
Work is the same except for the fact that this is probably the busiest winter I've experienced since starting work here. You see something new everyday and good pay can't be all that bad I say.
As far as the question above goes of whether we are safer since 9/11, I'd have to say no! For those of you who don't work for the Govt, you would be amazed at the bureaucratic bullshit and redundancy that exists. All this ties our hands to our job done effectively and efficiently! I feel that we are lucky that something like 9/11 hasn't happened again. Our country needs to wake up and worry about us and not the ungrateful bastards that are killing our troops over seas. I honestly feel that we should pull all of our troops back from these other countries and put them on our borders to the north and south. Everybody thinks that the Canadians are harmless but they are the ones letting the terrorists into their country. They can then come to our country via the vast open border. Everybody is worried about the trade and how long the f***ing lines are! Screw them and the horse they rode in on! "Children of a common mother" my ass. If you call my mother "common" then you are about to get your ass kicked!! This political correctness is going to be our downfall. You will be assimilated!
I guess I ranted enough for now. Hope everybody has a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year! If you are offended by my saying the above wishes then feel free to leave my country!! He is the reason for the season! C-YA

X-mas is almost here!

It's been awhile since I last wrote due to work overload and the hustle and bustle of X-MAS. I was just talking to the wife, while wrapping presents, about how sad it is that we work so hard on the buying of gifts, wrapping of presents and planning of the actual day of X-MAS to see it go by in a flash! It's like the planning of a wedding, sorry girls, there is all this build up and then the actual day just zips by. Don't get me wrong because it is fun keeping the Santa thing a secret from the kids. My wife and I dread the day that our daughter, Alysse, finds out that there is no Santa. It will be even sadder when Elijah finds out from Alysse. :( They are spoiled and the gifts won't stop coming. It might not be good to spoil your kids but it fun living your life through them, you just got to know when to stop.
Winter is here in the Northwest and all the snow is gone. Rain, rain and more rain for the winter. Oh well, you have to take the bad with the good I guess.
We are heading to Maui in January and we are so excited. 10 Days of fun under the sun. The kids are older and easier to travel with no days which makes all the difference. I will be sure to post some pics from our trip.
Prayers for little Cody and hoping he has a speedy recovery!

Here today, gone tomorrow!

What a difference a day makes! Not much to talk about today other than all the snow we got yesterday and the day before has all melted. We don't mind it much but the people down by Seattle do! There is widespread flodding and power outages with the windstorm. The Great Pineapple Express made its way through the Pacific Northwest again. The temperature was in the 40's and 30's a couple days ago and not it is in the high 50's and low 60's. The rain and snow I don't mind but it's that damn wind that I can't stand. The kids get freaked out becuase they think the power will go out again. You try and explain stuff to them but they just don't listen and think the worst. We have a generator now and will not have to worry about power outages in the future but they still get a little anxiuos. Whatta ya gonna do?
Well that is all for now I guess.

Blog Cherry Popped

It's official! This is my very first posting. I'm new at this and have no idea what to say. Blogging is not as easy as you think it is! I'm still trying to find a way to add a vacation ticker to my blog. It's late and I'm getting tired.
Winter is officially here and the snow came down in buckets. It snowed all day and now it is raining. The kids love the snow of course but we (parents) don't because we have to drive to work in the mess. If you were lucky like me then you were couped up in the house with them while they were pinging off the walls. School is back tomorrow and that means free time for me to do some last minute X-mas shopping.
Still thinking of my nephew Cody who finally back home from the hospital. He was diagnosed with Nauroplastoma a couple years back. He was in remission but they found some cancer on his liver. He had chemo this week and was a trooper through the whole procedure. Why should a child have to be subjected to this stuff? What did he do to deserve this? We have millions of sick bastards out there who deserve this but the seem to live a charmed life. The gangsters, drug dealers and criminals who make everybody elses lives so miserable. Where is the justice?? Hasn't he and his family been through enough already? It's hard to enjoy ones life when so many are in pain! Many prayers are heading his way and things are looking up for him lately.
At least the Steelers beat the shitty Cincinatti Bengals tonight! It wasn't the best win but at least it was a win. Well enough for today and maybe I'll more to say tomorrow.
